Unearth the roots of Mexican culture, the beating heart of Mexico’s identity. Through the history of food, dance, religion, and traditions this virtual exhibit will introduce some of the ways the generations of today are preserving their Indigenous roots and honoring their ancestors. With this interactive exhibit you will be able to explore personal stories, community ties, and historical contexts through a multimedia experience.
Descubre las raíces de la cultura mexicana, el corazón de la identidad de México. A través de la historia de la comida, la danza, la religión y las tradiciones, esta exhibición virtual presentará algunas de las formas en que las generaciones actuales preservan sus raíces indígenas y honran a sus antepasados. Con esta exhibición interactiva podrás explorar historias personales, lazos comunitarios y contextos históricos a través de una experiencia multimedia.
About Natalie | Sobre Natalie
Natalie Naranjo-Morett (she/her/ella) is a Tijuana, Mexico native but was born and raised in San Diego, California. Growing up in San Diego with immigrant parents meant she was able to embrace her cross-cultural identity while also discovering a passion for history, specifically that of Latin American Indigenous communities. By collaborating with and amplifying the voices of Latin American communities, Natalie hopes to decolonize the ways in which museums represent Latin American Indigenous history and culture.
Natalie Naranjo-Morett (she/her/ella) es nativa de Tijuana, México pero nació y fue criada en San Diego, California. Crecer en San Diego con padres inmigrantes significó que pudo apreciar su identidad intercultural que resulto en que descubriera una pasión por la historia, específicamente la de las comunidades indígenas latinoamericanas. Al colaborar y amplificar las voces de las comunidades latinoamericanas, Natalie espera descolonizar las formas en que los museos representan la historia y la cultura indígena latinoamericana.
